Meet the Herd

At 23, Gracie is the matriarch of the herd. Before she came to the ranch, she'd been passed around to various families as a show horse. In her last home, her herdmate passed, and the family wanted to get out of horses, so I took her in. She came depressed, dissociated and unsure of her new home. With time, Gracie settled in and now offers her kindness to anyone who needs it. She is a gentle presence that magnetizes people looking for a safe place to land. Her medicine is compassion, healing and mercy both for self and others.

Bandit is my daughter’s show horse and is currently taking a hiatus from the show ring. He is a big boy with a big personality to match. Inquisitive and unabashed, he's a horse that loves to be in your personal space, whether you want it or not. His medicine centers on boundaries as well as unapologetically showing up as our true selves. His big personality can be intimidating but when we stand in our own power we earn his respect. He reminds us to not take life too seriously and we all need to take time to play.

Queen Meri, as I affectionately call her, has a heart as big as she is. She was my personal show horse, giving her best in the show ring until arthritis in her ankles made it too painful to continue. In all honesty, her show career was not her favorite. But working with Wild Awake women is what she truly excels at. Meri is a magic maker that helps transform dark to light. She’s sensitive, yet no bullshit. She’s sweet but sets boundaries. She is connected to her truth, and walks away from anything not meant for her. But if she’s meant to be in your life she’s a big presence.
